What has Covid-19 taught you this year? To stay inside

The Box Story

He gazed at the wall in confusion, the walls were shifting and changing into shapes that no man could have possibly imagined. He kicked and punched at the walls with all his strength but he couldn't crack a dent into it. It was then he realised he was trapped. He tried to bite his tongue, bite his arm, punch himself. He tried all possible ways to hurt himself. But he couldn't, he didn't feel anything. He cried in sorrow.

The box was starting to shrink and making it less air to inhale, the walls started to spread making it bigger and wider. He had more room to run around and he had more room to think. He then realised that there was air. He was just imagining the pain. When suddenly he saw a flashing light. Images all around him started to play. The walls shifted again. It changed into whatever he pictured, He experimented with it for hours on end. With nothing else to do he could devote all his time into this. After testing for two days straight.

The box had no holes, his voice started bouncing back and forth. He could hear his own echo. It made his body shutter. To calm himself down he decided to envision what his own life would've been if he wasn't here. It was then another image played. It showed more than a billion possibilities of what could've happened. He realised he could see the future from within the box. He thought “What if I could see the past too?”. The box was not wide nor was it small. He had prayed and begged god for another chance. He was brisk walking around the dark distance where it was quiet and echoing. The echo was playing with his head and mind. It was so dark, the air had felt dark.

He then got a message. There was a little notification box on the screen, to the bottom right. It said 1, he clicked it in curiosity. Then a message played. A man as black as the galaxy's the galaxy but as white as a star. This man was the galaxy itself. He proclaimed he was god and that I was facing divine punishment. I would be trapped for eternity unless I reached the power of a god. He said then I can break out of the box myself.

The sounds of birds echoed throughout the box, and the air spun around the room. The flames crackled on the fireplace and the water trickled down the ceiling. The water dripping sounded like plop plop. With the air whooshing around the box making the sound of breeze.

Mood in art

Kia ora, This work is about mood in art and how realistic it is.
Each colour has an effect on each word.

Haka Vocab

This is how people reacted to the haka. Different types of people have different reactions because some of them if their first time and some is not.

Akoi Lion Kinq

This work is about how I felt watching the Lion King trailer in different audio.
It shows us that Music can change our emotions.

Smart DLO

I chose to do a DLO based on an acronym called smart. Smart stands for:

S - Screenshot

M - Move away

A - Ask An Adult For Help

R - Remove The Message/Video/Picture or block the person that sent it.

T - Talk to a Close Friend/Adult

The audience which this was made for was everyone who wants to see it.

The tools I used were a website called Wix. Wix is a very useful website creator which I now use for alot of the tasks the I do.

For the design I wanted to make it similar to a power point. I also chose images that relate to the words that I said

This was a group project made by me and my friends. Toni, Akoi, Noah. They also have their own blogs where you can check out their perspective on my work.

Note: This is not a finished product.

Different ways to present our work online

Would I like to live for 1000  years?

Personally I would like to live for 1000 years for a lot of reasons. I am curious of what would happen in the future and what people would look like. I'm interested that animals could take the world.

We were asked to find a range of ways to share our learning. We call these DLO's. DLO's are different ways we can present our work online.

This is my second DLO example.

Heroes are no zeros

 Heroes are ordinary.

It’s a random day, anything could happen but then I see criminals robbing the store and what do I do? I have two options, I can either run and get the cops or go and stop the burglary. Well a business man named James was late for an appointment for his sore throat. But he gave up his time to stop criminals. What a selfless man, isn’t he?

When I say heroes, the Avengers come to mind, doesn't it. Super jumping, Super strength, Telekinesis, Agility, but they are all false. Do you want to hear about real heroes? Well real heroes are ordinary people but with integrity, and they treat others like how they want to be treated.

For example on February 27th a random guy named Turawaho Hemopo better known as T to his friends, was a random truck driver but a selfless kiwi man that unexpectedly had to save other people’s property after 2 criminals were robbing . He later interviewed with the news show  ‘Today’ and showed that you can be a hero if you have integrity, respect and responsibility.

Moving on, my main point is that heroes are ordinary because anyone can become a hero if they want to. Heroes have power and with that power they can empower people for the better. Not like a superpower but a power like bravery, courage, selflessness, determination, protectiveness, inspiration and strength. These are the powers that are more effective than fake laser eyes and long capes.

I'm talking about real life superheroes that save people's lives from danger and change peoples lives to make their lives better.

So that is all my reasons why I think heroes are ordinary people, so people could be better people.

You are probably sick and tired of me repeating my opinion but hopefully I have convinced you. Once again and one last time heroes ARE ordinary people.

and differences between the two.

Typhoon Disaster

Typhoon Disaster

I had 4 siblings E.J, Amiel, Princess and Gerado. But I was partial to my sister princess. I can remember whenever she smiles her eyes light up. It was a stormy day and I thought it could not get worse. But then a typhoon dashed my way and we quickly rushed to our grandfather’s house, but when it got worse my father and grandfather had to destroy the plywood at the back to escape.
After we checked our house and I couldn’t see a trace of any of it. All our items soaked in floodwater. I break down and cry. But three days later relief goods came and it was surprising.  Other families that we saw received kitchen seats, blankets, mosquito nets, hygiene kits, toothbrushes and laundry and bath soap. But we had them before the community.
It was a joy for me to follow them from the World Vision site to the place where they are staying. Princess excitedly opened the box while other people gathered around to see what she received. Everyone was happy and also I was too. These moments are the highlight of my work. While there is no communication with emergencies  it will always be a mix of pain and joy.

My Prime Minister

 Prime Minister

File:Ernest Rutherford 1908.jpg - Wikimedia CommonsIn my opinion Sir Ernest Rutherford should be a prime minister because he is an honorable and determined working man. He has 3 science degrees and he helped the country by helping in the war.

He has so many achievements in his life that he has claimed, so of course he would be a prime minister. He has a Sir in his name and is also in the 100 dollar bill.

He is the father of nuclear science and he discovered  beta rays and alpha.

The Police Shoudn't Carry Guns

Should the Police Carry Guns
Imagine this, you are having a splendid day with a cup of tea and then all of a sudden, raging officers come forward with guns, threatening you. Instead of protecting, the police are killing innocent people. In my opinion, the New Zealand Police should not carry guns. The news about the killing of George Floyd has gone viral around the world from an officer in America.

This shall not continue because of the amount of deaths by police brutality. But in New Zealand, since 1916 NZ police officers have shot and killed 40 people in the line of duty. I do not think the police need guns because it could cause accidental deaths, taxpayers will buy more guns and guns will scare the general public.  Gun’s affect people so they can acquire guns and cause savagery and disturbance. It will notify the general public to inspire taxpayers to supply them.

Once again I believe that cops should not carry guns. For my first reason there have been a lot of accidental deaths due to little children finding guns. In America a toddler grabbed a handgun that he/she had found, and sadly they fatally shot themselves. There have been more than 73 deaths due to this same reason. We don’t want this to become the norm in New Zealand.

Other than this, there are many other reasons why cops should not have guns.
